Green light for new state-of-the-art David Lloyd club in Wintringham, St Neots

David Lloyd Clubs, Europe’s leading premium health, fitness and wellness group, has been granted planning permission for a new state-of-the-art health, fitness and wellness Club in Wintringham, St Neots.

The new family-focused Club will create around 90 jobs once open, as well as approximately 60 jobs during construction.

Planning permission was granted by local council officers earlier this week.

The new family-friendly Club will include:

  • A state-of-the-art gym with Personal Training
  • Heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools
  • Kids indoor and outdoor swimming pools
  • Premium group exercise studios
  • Match-quality tennis, padel, pickleball and badminton facilities, including three outdoor tennis courts within an air dome structure and three dedicated padel courts
  • An outdoor multi-use court
  • A luxury Spa Retreat with an external Spa Garden
  • Family facilities including indoor soft play, a child activity area, and DL Kids Club
  • A stylish Clubroom with food and drink offerings

The Club will also include a contemporary Clubroom for members to meet, relax or enjoy a bite to eat, as well as flexible spaces for work, socialising and downtime. Family is at the heart of David Lloyd Clubs, with dedicated areas for children and a programme of after-school and holiday clubs, offering engaging childcare solutions outside school hours.

The new Club will complement the wider vision for Wintringham as a healthy and sustainable community. David Lloyd Clubs is committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2030, and this new site will incorporate the latest sustainable technologies to ensure efficient and responsible operations.

Construction is expected to begin later this summer, with the new Club due to open in 2026.
